Imbolc is celebrated on February first as the first of the eight Celtic neopagan holidays. It represents the incoming of spring and the ancient goddess Brigid. It also celebrates St Brigid of Kildare with the lighting of a candle and the tying of St Brigid’s cross and the cleaning of ones house, body, and soul.
